USPTO Abstract
1,254,332. 1-(Trifluoromethylphenyl)prop-2- yl-glycine derivatives. SCIENCE UNION ET CIE, SOC. FRANCAISE DE RECHERCHE MEDICALE. 12 Feb., 1970 [27 Feb., 1969], No. 10617/69. Heading C2C. Novel amino-acids and their derivatives of the Formula I: wherein X denotes H or halogen, R denotes -OH, -OC 1-4 alkyl, (where R 1 and R 2 independently denote H, C 1-4 alkyl or a cyclic radical, e.g. phenyl or pyridyl, optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms, a C 1-4 alkyl or alkoxy radical, or a CF 3 group; R 2 may also be -CONH 2 when R 1 is H, and -NR 1 R 2 may denote a heterocyclic radical selected from morpholino, piperidino, 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1-indolinyl or 2-isoindolinyl radicals) or a hydrazino radical (where R 3 and R 4 each independently denotes H or C 1-4 alkyl) may be obtained (1) by reacting a compound of general Formula (II): with an alkyl bromoacetate where n is an integer of from 1 to 4, (2) by reacting the ester formed in (1) with HCl to form the free acid (or its salt), (3) by reacting the ester formed in (1) with a hydrazine or (4) by reacting a compound of Formula II with a chloroacetamide of the formula Pharmaceutical compositions having anorexigenic, analgesic and lipid metabolism regulator activity, comprise compounds of the Formula I above, or their addition salts, in admixture or conjunction with a pharmaceutically suitable carrier, preferably in forms suitable for oral, rectal or parenteral administration.
