USPTO Abstract
1,216,813. Skin puncturing device. S. NARUSAWA. 21 Feb., 1969, No. 9460/69. Heading A5R. A device for puncturing the skin comprises a body portion 13 carrying needles 19 and able to be moved within a barrel 11, the barrel haxing an open skin contacting end with a bevelled edge, the body portion being movable such that the lips of the needles may be positioned level with the bevelled edge. As shown, the body portion is adjustably threaded to a head portion 15 whereby the penetration of the needles into the skin may be varied and a spring 16 biasses the body portion to the retracted position within the barrel. In use (Figures 6, 7, not shown) the barrel is pressed against the skin so that the skin swells up into the barrel. The body portion is then pressed down onto the skin so that the needles, the outer of which (19,19") project the further, penetrate the skin. A vaccine or medicine, &c. may be applied to the skin before the device is used.
