Heading C2C. 1,6 - Oxido - cyclodec - 1 - ene, having the formula is prepared by pyrolising 1-acetoxy-1,6-oxidocyclodecane, having the formula at a temperature of up to 450‹ C. The 1,6- oxido-cyclodec-1-ene may also be prepared by treating 6-hydroxycyclodecanone, having the formula with an acid catalyst, e.g. p-toluene sulphonic acid at an elevated temperture.
