USPTO Abstract

1,097,254. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. NEOTECHNIC ENGINEERING Ltd. July 13, 1965 [July 15, 1964], No.29178/64. Heading F1R. An actuator for a pressurized aerosol dispensing container comprises a stationary housing member 1 for the container 24 and a transversely movable member or members 26 with means for producing axial movement of the container 24 relative to its discharge valve stem 25 to actuate the valve and discharge the container contents through passage 6. A nasal or oral applicator may be fitted to part 5 of housing 1, which may be screw-threaded. As shown, the means for moving the container 24 comprises toggles 28 engaging members 26 and a slidable disc 29. In other embodiments, Figs. 1 and 5 (not shown), a wedge on the movable member, and slots in the movable and stationary members co-operating with a transverse bar, are employed. The valve stem-receiving portion of the housing may be removable. The movable member is pivoted on the stationary housing member and both may be of metal or plastics.
