USPTO Abstract
Topical anti-perspirant compositions comprise an ester of 3-pyrrolidinol, of the general formula: <FORM:1080960/A5-A6/1> wherein R and R111 are the same or different C1 to C4 alkyl radicals; R1 is a C5 to C8 cyclo alkyl radical having 5 to 7 carbon atoms in the ring; R11 is H or -OH, and X- is a non-toxic anion, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent. The carrier may be a liquid, together with a thickener and/or emulsifying agent, or an emollient, a particulate solid, or a solvent with a perfume, and the composition may take the form of an emulsified lotion, a non-fluid emulsified cream, a spray solution, a compressed stick, or a dusting powder; liquid forms may be packed in roll-on applicators. The preferred active esters are 1-methyl-3-pyrrolidyl alpha-phenyl-cyclohexane glycolate- or -cyclopentaneglycolate-methobromide. Other active ingredients may be present, such as ethanol, benzalkonium halides, neomycin salts, dexamethasone, hydrocortisone, prednisone, prednisolone, triamcinolone, and the antibacterial, iodochlorhydroxyquin or the antifungal, undecylenic acid.
