USPTO Abstract

The present invention relates to a dispensing device for dispensing in particular dental substances, comprises a main body, a dispensing mechanism and an operating mechanism. Said dispensing mechanism is configured to dispense the substances from the dispensing device. Said operating member is configured to be moved manually by a user from a non-operating position to an operating position for activating the dispensing mechanism. The dispensing mechanism comprises a piston rod configured to act in a proximal direction on the substances for dispensing the substances from the dispensing device, a coupling member configured to couple the operating member operatively with the piston rod and a first biasing member biasing the coupling member in the proximal direction. The coupling member is configured such that an operation stroke of the operating member from its non-operating position to its operating position results directly in a distally directed helical charging movement of the coupling member relative to the main body against the forces of the first biasing member, followed by a proximal, in particular non-rotational, dispensing movement of the coupling member and a thereby caused proximal dispensing movement of the piston rod.
