The present disclosure relates to the use of a composition as adsorbent of a cytostatic compound in an aqueous solution, wherein the composition comprises an ionic liquid supported on a silica-based material, wherein the silica-based material is a silica particle, and the ionic liquid comprises an ammonium salt and a chloride anion. The present disclosure also relates to a portable device comprising the composition of the present disclosure, preferably in powdered format or granule format.
