The present invention refers to a container comprising a compartment filled with an aqueous solution of dexmedetomidine and optionally closed with a cap, wherein at least the inner surface of the compartment which is in contact with the aqueous solution of dexmedetomidine, is made of low density polyethylene (LDPE). The present invention further refers to the use of said container for storing the aqueous dexmedetomidine solution. Finally, the present invention refers to a method for manufacturing a container filled with an aqueous solution of dexmedetomidine comprising the steps of providing the container, filling the compartment of the container with an aqueous dexmedetomidine solution, sealing the compartment of the container, and optionally providing the container with a cap.
