The present invention relates to a method of cleansing the colon using colon cleansing solutions, and compositions and kits associated therewith. In one embodiment, such compositions comprise (i) 70 to 250 g per litre PEG having an average molecular weight of 2500 to 4500 Da; and (ii) 2.0 to 20 g per litre of one or more alkali metal sulphates, alkaline earth metal sulphates or a mixture thereof, (iii) sucralose and a souring agent and optionally comprising electrolytes and one or more flavouring agents. In some embodiments, the invention also provides methods and kits associated with, or for making use of the solutions, and compositions for the preparation of the solutions.
