USPTO Abstract
Dry powder inhalation device (1), comprising a housing (2), a base plate (3), a receptacle (4) for a medicament and a mouthpiece (5), wherein the base plate (3) is engageable with the housing (2) to form a main space (6) with a main air inlet (6a), the mouthpiece (5) comprises an inner conduit (5a) connected to its outlet (5b), the mouthpiece (5) is engageable with the base plate (3) to fluidly connect the inner conduit (5a) to the receptacle (4), and the receptacle (4) is fluidly connected to the main space (6), so that upon inhalation by the user, air can be drawn through the main air inlet (6a) into the main space (6) and onward through the receptacle (4) into the inner conduit, wherein the mouthpiece (5) and the base plate (3) form an auxiliary space (7) with an auxiliary air inlet (7a), wherein the auxiliary space (7) is fluidly connected to the main space (6). Dry powder inhalation device (1), where a first airway (6b) is provided between the main space (6) and atmosphere, so that upon inhalation by the user, air can be drawn through said airway (6b) into the main space (6) and onward through the receptacle (4) into the inner conduit (5a), wherein the mouthpiece (5) and the base plate (3) form an auxiliary space (7), wherein the auxiliary space (7) is fluidly connected to atmosphere by a second airway (7b) and to the inner conduit (5a) by means of a bypass air path (8).
