What this patent protects

An airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702) for a breath-actuated dry powder inhaler. The airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702) comprising a conduit (202,302,507,602,703) having a proximal end (201,209,301,309) and a distal end (706), wherein the proximal end (201,209,301,30…

USPTO Abstract

An airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702) for a breath-actuated dry powder inhaler. The airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702) comprising a conduit (202,302,507,602,703) having a proximal end (201,209,301,309) and a distal end (706), wherein the proximal end (201,209,301,309) allows fluid communication from a deagglomerator (400,500,701) outlet port (432,530) to the distal end (706) of the conduit (202,302,507,602,703) wherein the airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702) further comprises at least one second (705) conduit (202,302,507,602,703) for allowing air to flow from a proximal end (201,209,301,309) of the adaptor to a distal end (706) of the adaptor independently of the airflow (4) in the conduit (202,302,507,602,703) when a breath induced low pressure is applied to the distal end (706) of the airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702), wherein the distal end (706) of the conduit (202,302,507,602,703) comprises a first circumferential flange (106,203,303,309,506,704), and the second (705) conduit (202,302,507,602,703) is in the form of at least one aperture in the first circumferential flange (106,203,303,309,506,704), and wherein the airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702) comprises a second circumferential flange (208,308,508,705) at the proximal end (201,209,301,309) of the airflow adaptor (100,200,300,501,601,702), the second circumferential flange (208,308,508,705) comprising at least one aperture.
