The present invention relates to an aqueous paracetamol composition for injection characterized in that it contains a buffering system comprising a carboxylic acid and tromethamine. Said composition is stable against degradation and oxidation and is especially suitable for its administration by injection. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of said composition, and to the use of tromethamine for the stabilization of aqueous solutions of paracetamol.
