Described is an autoinjector (1) comprising a case (2), a door (3) hingedly coupled to the case (2) and having an open position and a closed position, a plunger (10) slidably disposed in the case (2), and at least one drive spring (9) applying a biasing force on the plunger (10) relative to the case (2), wherein the door (3) is operably coupled to the plunger (10), and wherein rotation of the door (3) from the closed position to the open position moves the plunger (10) from a distal position in the case (2) to a proximal position in the case (2) and compresses the at least one drive spring (9).
