Thus, for example, heating a mixture of one or more maltodextrins, ferric hydroxide and water, oxidizing the iron maltodextrin complex obtained using an aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution and maintaining at 25°C to 125°C to obtain iron (III) carboxymaltose complex.
