An invention pertains to manufacturing of medicines, food and food supplements and particularly products containing components facilitating iron absorption and haematopoiesis. The composition described is obtained by extraction of a complex of biologically active substances having molecular weight up to 10 000 Da from the red beetroot ( Beta vulgaris ) juice. The composition stimulates intestinal iron absorption better than the native red beetroot juice, ascorbic acid, citric acid or other commercially available medicines for facilitation of iron absorption. The composition may be used with other substances improving iron absorption in humans and animals.
