A capsule-type medical device (3) suitable for increasing radio wave strength by enhancing efficiency of radio transmission/reception by an antenna. The capsule-type medical device (3) comprises an imaging/illuminating section (21) provided with an illumination optical system and an imaging section that are used as a means for executing a specified function in a subject body, an RF section (23) as a radio means for communicating a signal with the outside of the subject body by radio, the signal being a signal generated by driving the imaging/illuminating section (21) or a signal for controlling the drive of the imaging/illuminating section (21), and an antenna (26) having a pair of antenna elements (26a, 26b) formed in a tubular shape covering the outer circumference of the imaging/illuminating section (21).
