The invention relates to novel 2-phenylsulfopyrroles of formula (I) wherein R 1 represents lower alkyl, halo-lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, hydroxy, lower alkoxy, halo-lower alkoxy, cycloalkoxy or cyano, R 2 represents hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, hydroxy or lower alkoxy, or R 1 and R 2 together with the carbon atoms they are bound to form a ring, R 3 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy-lower alkyl or halo-lower alkyl, R 4 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, a carbamoyl group C(O)NHR 8 , a sulfamoyl group SO 2 NHR 8 , halogen or cyano, and the other substituents have the meaning described in the specification; processes for the preparation thereof, pharmaceutical compositions containing same, the use thereof optionally in combination with one or more other pharmaceutically active compounds for the therapy of neoplastic diseases and autoimmune diseases, and a method for the treatment of such a diseases.
