The present invention provides a device (2) for use with a syringe (4), the device comprising: a longitudinal axis; a hollow body extending about the longitudinal axis; a first opening provided at a first end of the hollow body; a second opening provided at a second end of the hollow body, the second end being opposite to and longitudinally spaced from the first end; and a slit extending over the length of the hollow body, wherein the hollow body is adapted to be opened about the slit such that in use the hollow body may be placed around and closed over the piston rod (6) of a syringe.
