The method comprises administering to a subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of zonisamide. The methods of the present invention are useful in relieving headache. The compounds of the present method can also be used in conjunction with other therapeutic agents commonly used to treat headache thus enhancing the therapeutic effect of reducing headache.
