The present invention relates to methods and intermediates for preparing compounds of the formula 1 and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, as well as structurally related compounds, wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 15 are as defined herein. The foregoing compounds are useful in the treatment of hyperproliferative disorders, such as cancers, in mammals. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing compounds of the formula 9 and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, wherein R 6 -R 10 and R 15 are as defined herein.
