Diphenylpyrrolylfuran derivatives represented by the following formula (I): wherein R₁ and R₂ may be the same or different and independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a lower alkylthio group, or a lower alkylsulfenyl group; m and n independently represent an integer of from 1 to 3; R₃ represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, R₄ represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, or a lower acyl group; and R₅ represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group which may have one or more suitable substituents, a lower alkoxy- or an aryloxy-carbonyl group, an acyl group, or a sulfonyl group, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are disclosed. The compounds disclosed are useful as anti-inflammatory agents, anti-allergic agents, anti-platelet agents; and synthetic intermediates for the preparation of the coumpounds of the formula (I) represented by the following formula (II):
