Cosmetically elegant anhydrous foaming creams contain high levels of glycerin and emollients, sodium cocoyl isethionate at levels of 19% or less and an effective amount of a detergent additive to increase the softness of the composition. The detergent additive is preferably one of the following: sodium lauryl sulfate, a sodium salt of fatty acid taurate, an acyl glutamate, an α-olefin sulfonate or a neutralized lauryl phosphoric acid. The detergent additive can be present in an amount from about 1 to about 20 weight percent.
