A dithioacetal compound of the formula : wherein R¹ is lower alkyl, di-(lower)alkylamino, aryl, or heterocyclic group which may have one or more substituents selected from halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy and phenyl, R² and R³ are each lower alkyl, aryl or ar-(lower)alkyl, or R² and R³ are together to form 1,3-dithian ring, R⁴ is hydrogen or lower alkoxy, and n is O or an integer 1 to 4 and pharma­ceutically acceptable salts thereof, processes for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions comprising them as an active ingredient.
