USPTO Abstract
A method and an installation make it possible to produce molded objects of cellular plastic material having reinforcing parts or stiffeners preformed by spraying on the interior surfaces of the mold and subsequently embedded in the body of the molded object. The stiffeners (15, 17) are preformed in the same mold (1) as the object to be molded by spraying a rapid reaction mixture of a first plastic material having well-defined physical and/or mechanical properties, which sticks to predetermined parts of the interior surface of the mold (1). Then a foaming mixture (16) of a second plastic material having physical and/or mechanical properties different from those of the first plastic material is introduced into the cavity of the mold (1) and surrounds the preformed stiffeners (15, 17).
