A pharmaceutical formulation is used comprising a therapeutically effective amount of carbachol, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in combination with brimonidine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, specifically combined with permeation enhancers and excipients to increase efficacy and reduce ocular surface toxicity and improve tolerability.
