USPTO Abstract
The invention relates to the use of complex liquid coacervates that produce solid adhesives in situ to fix medical devices, such as catheters, within a blood vessel. The fixed devices allow for the targeted delivery of bioactive agents. The fixed devices can act as embolic agents by reducing or preventing blood flow in the vessel. Furthermore, the embolization resulting from the solid adhesive produced in situ can also incorporate one or more bioactive agents that can be released in a controlled manner.
