The present invention relates to improved topical gel compositions comprising an active agent, and uses thereof. The composition comprises skin penetration enhancers, rheology modifiers, solubilization agents and is capable of transdermal delivery of poorly soluble or hydrophobic agents. The actives delivered through the inventive vehicle are antifungal and anti-inflammatory agents such as fluticazone and naftifine.
