Mechanism of action
Xylitol syrup is a sugar substitute that is not metabolized by oral bacteria, which are unable to use it for energy. As a result, the bacteria are unable to grow and multiply, leading to a decrease in the production of acid and a reduction in the risk of tooth decay.
