Mechanism of action
Corticosteroids work by binding to glucocorticoid receptors in inflammatory cells, suppressing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and reducing local inflammation. When injected directly into the wrist joint or surrounding tissues, the steroid acts locally to decrease pain, swelling, and inflammatory responses associated with various wrist conditions.
