Mechanism of action

This leads to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid that binds to tubulin, preventing its polymerization into microtubules. This disrupts the mitotic spindle, causing cells to accumulate in metaphase and ultimately leading to cell death.
