Ticagrelor plus aspirin
Ticagrelor plus aspirin is a Dual antiplatelet agent combination Small molecule drug developed by Fujian Medical University. It is currently FDA-approved for Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) for prevention of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, and stent thrombosis, Secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with prior myocardial infarction. Also known as: Brilinta.
Ticagrelor and aspirin work together as dual antiplatelet agents to prevent blood clots by inhibiting platelet activation and aggregation through different pathways.
Ticagrelor is a small molecule that acts as a negative allosteric modulator of the P2Y purinoceptor 12, a purinergic receptor involved in platelet aggregation. It is often used in combination with aspirin as part of dual anti-platelet therapy for conditions such as coronary artery disease and after percutaneous coronary intervention.

Mechanism of action
Ticagrelor is a P2Y12 receptor antagonist that reversibly blocks ADP-induced platelet aggregation, while aspirin irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) to prevent thromboxane A2 production. Together, this dual antiplatelet therapy provides complementary inhibition of platelet function, reducing thrombotic events more effectively than either agent alone.
