Mechanism of action

Tang works by inhibiting the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), which breaks down incretin hormones. This leads to increased levels of incretin hormones, which in turn stimulate the release of insulin and decrease the release of glucagon, resulting in lower blood sugar levels.
