Mechanism of action
Tamsulosin works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. Dutasteride, on the other hand, blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to prostate growth. By inhibiting DHT, dutasteride helps reduce prostate size and alleviate BPH symptoms.
