Mechanism of action
Guaifenesin is an expectorant that works by thinning mucus and making it easier to expectorate. It increases the water content of respiratory secretions, reducing their viscosity and allowing for more effective clearance through coughing. This mechanism helps relieve congestion associated with colds, flu, and other respiratory conditions.
