Mechanism of action

Ringer-acetat (acetated Ringer's solution) is a physiologically balanced electrolyte solution containing sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, and acetate. It is administered intravenously to restore intravascular volume, correct electrolyte imbalances, and maintain proper pH through the acetate buffer system, which is metabolized to bicarbonate in the liver.
