Mechanism of action
Radium bromatum pills contain radium-224, a radioactive isotope that decays into other radioactive isotopes, which then emit ionizing radiation to kill cancer cells. This process is known as brachytherapy, where a radioactive source is placed inside or next to the tumor to deliver a high dose of radiation directly to the cancer cells.
