Mechanism of action

Probiotics work by introducing live beneficial bacteria (typically Lactobacillus and/or Bifidobacterium species) into the gastrointestinal tract. These microorganisms colonize the gut, compete with pathogenic bacteria, produce short-chain fatty acids, strengthen the intestinal barrier, and modulate local and systemic immune responses. This helps restore microbial balance disrupted by antibiotics, illness, or poor diet.
