Mechanism of action

Pregnyl is a recombinant or extracted form of hCG, a glycoprotein hormone that binds to luteinizing hormone receptors on Leydig cells (in males) and ovarian cells (in females). In males, it stimulates testosterone synthesis; in females, it triggers the LH surge necessary for ovulation. It is commonly used to support fertility and hormone replacement in hypogonadal conditions.
