Mechanism of action
Etoposide works by inhibiting the enzyme topoisomerase II, which is involved in DNA replication and repair. This leads to DNA damage and ultimately cell death. Cisplatin, on the other hand, forms platinum-DNA adducts, which interfere with DNA replication and transcription, causing cell death.
