Mechanism of action

PENG (Pectineus, Obturator Externus, adductor Longus, Gracilis) block is an ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve block that targets the obturator nerve and accessory obturator nerve in the medial hip region. This technique provides anesthesia and analgesia for hip surgery, hip fracture repair, and groin procedures by blocking sensory innervation to the hip joint capsule and surrounding structures.
