Mechanism of action
Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy drug that forms platinum-DNA adducts, which prevent DNA replication and transcription, ultimately causing cell death in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This mechanism is particularly effective against colorectal cancer cells.
