Mechanism of action
Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (EPA and DHA) are incorporated into cell membranes and serve as precursors for anti-inflammatory mediators called resolvins and protectins. They reduce triglyceride levels, improve endothelial function, and modulate immune responses through effects on inflammatory cytokines and eicosanoid production.
