Mechanism of action

When nebulized and inhaled, beclomethasone dipropionate is converted to its active metabolite and penetrates airway tissues where it binds intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. This activation suppresses the transcription of pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules, reducing eosinophil recruitment, mucus production, and airway hyperresponsiveness. The local delivery via nebulization minimizes systemic exposure while maximizing therapeutic effect in the lungs.
