Mechanism of action
A nasal swab collects mucus and cellular material from the nasal cavity or nasopharynx for detection of pathogens (viruses, bacteria) or biomarkers. The collected sample is then analyzed via molecular methods such as RT-PCR, antigen testing, or culture to identify infectious agents or other diagnostic markers.
