Mechanism of action
Oxycodone activates mu opioid receptors throughout the brain and spinal cord, inhibiting pain signal transmission and modulating pain perception. The liquid formulation allows for flexible dosing and is commonly used in pediatric and adult patients who cannot tolerate solid dosage forms. It is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from thebaine.
