Mechanism of action

Giomer varnishes are resin-based dental materials that combine glass ionomer and composite resin properties. When light-cured, they form a protective coating on teeth that gradually releases fluoride and other bioactive ions (such as strontium and aluminum) to strengthen enamel, inhibit caries formation, and provide antimicrobial effects. The material bonds to tooth structure and provides both immediate mechanical protection and sustained chemical protection against dental caries.
