Mechanism of action
By inhibiting PDE4, the drug prevents the breakdown of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), leading to elevated intracellular cAMP levels in immune and inflammatory cells. This suppresses the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, reducing inflammation.
