Mechanism of action
Isovue 250 contains iopamidol, a non-ionic iodinated contrast agent that absorbs X-rays more readily than surrounding soft tissue, creating enhanced contrast in radiographic images. The iodine atoms provide the radiopacity needed for diagnostic imaging. It is administered intravenously and distributes through the vascular system and extracellular space to improve visualization of blood vessels, organs, and tissues during diagnostic procedures.
