Mechanism of action
The vaccine contains inactivated tetanus toxin (toxoid) adsorbed onto an adjuvant, which enhances the immune response. When administered, it triggers B and T cell responses that generate protective antibodies (antitoxins) against tetanus toxin produced by Clostridium tetani. This provides long-term immunity against tetanus disease.
