Indobufen and aspirin mimetic
Indobufen and aspirin mimetic is a Antiplatelet agent / Cyclooxygenase inhibitor Small molecule drug developed by Beijing Anzhen Hospital. It is currently FDA-approved for Prevention of thrombotic events in cardiovascular disease, Secondary prevention after myocardial infarction or stroke.
Indobufen is a platelet aggregation inhibitor that irreversibly acetylates cyclooxygenase, similar to aspirin, to prevent thrombotic events.
Indobufen is a small molecule with aspirin mimetic properties, studied for its potential benefits in conditions such as coronary artery disease, ischemic stroke, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It has been compared to aspirin in clinical trials, including one examining its effect on gastric acid secretion and gastroesophageal reflux in patients undergoing dual antiplatelet therapy.

Mechanism of action
Indobufen works by inhibiting platelet function through irreversible acetylation of cyclooxygenase enzymes, reducing thromboxane A2 synthesis and platelet aggregation. Like aspirin, it is used as an antiplatelet agent to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular thrombotic events. The drug has been marketed primarily in Asia, particularly in China, for cardiovascular indications.
